I Love Halong

Halong Phoenix Cruiser, a brother company of South Pacific Travel has organized an annual event “I LOVE HALONG” on November 2011 by giving travelers as well as all the staffs a chance to protect the environment of Halong Bay. This is the second year of the event with the main activities as following:

  • Holding seminar “How to protect Halong Bay”.
  • Collecting rubbish in the bay by using kayaks.
  • Encouraging the community to be involved in protecting, enhancing and restoring the environment.

Our vision is not only to create the very real and unique experience for travelers, but also build an intimate community preserve that maintains the balance of nature and community. As part of eco-tourism involvement, we always takes time to create new tour product, especially the programs that enhance the cultural integrity of the native community and minimize the negative aspects that tourism can have on nature. And of course, we do as much as we can to protect the nature.

Ha Long Bay is a world heritage site in northern Viet Nam, and is one of the country’s richest areas for potential development due to its great natural beauty and physical characteristics. However, the area is suffering from increasing pollution due to industrial and urban development, coal mining, and tourism.

So this year, the area which is chosen to launch the event is Cua Van Village. Together with three other fishing villages in the area: Vong Vieng, Cong Tau and Ba Hang, Cua Van is a floating village which lies in a calm bay surrounded by thousand green islets, about 30km away from Bai Chay Harbor.

Hopefully, the locals and traveler in Halong will be able to fill their lungs with cleaner air and clean water.
